Beşiktaş Approaches to Hijack Al-Ittihad's Potential Deal
Monday 12-01-2026
Turkish club Beşiktaş has entered the negotiations strongly, attempting to disrupt the Saudi Federation's efforts to sign one of Lazio's players during the current winter transfer window.

Beşiktaş is looking to sign Portuguese left-back Nuno Tavares from Lazio, the same player that the club considers a top priority to strengthen its defensive lineup.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla confirmed that Serdar Adalı, the president of Beşiktaş, is personally leading the negotiations with Lazio's management to finalize the deal as soon as possible.

Bidola explained that the talks could see significant progress in the coming hours or days, despite the multiple offers presented for Tavares, including offers coming from Saudi Arabia.

Beşiktaş made an initial offer worth 10 million euros plus bonuses in an attempt to convince Lazio to let go of their Portuguese player.

On the other hand, Lazio insists on receiving 15 million euros in cash, especially given the tense relationship with Tavares and its approach to a point of no return.

Earlier press reports revealed that Al-Ittihad had entered into official negotiations with Lazio to strengthen the defense of the team led by Italian coach Sergio Conceição, before Besiktas made a sudden intervention.
