FC Barcelona is preparing to officially announce the return of Portuguese defender João Cancelo to their squad in the coming days, after reaching a final agreement with the player and his current club, Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal.

Cancelo will join the Catalan team on loan until the end of the season, taking advantage of Andreas Christensen's long-term absence due to a partial tear of the left knee's cruciate ligament.

According to the Catalan newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," the Portuguese star is scheduled to undergo a medical examination in Barcelona tomorrow, Friday, before the official announcement of the deal.

The Catalan club will pay around 5 million euros for the loan until the end of the current season, while Barça will cover a small portion of the player's salary.
