Al-Shabab Studies Strengthening Its Defense with Le Havre Defenders in the Winter Transfer Market
Thursday 08-01-2026
Al-Shabab Club has started making moves in the ongoing winter transfer market to strengthen the first football team's defense line, as part of the club management's plan to reinforce the "Lions" squad before the season continues.

The Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" reported that the management of Al-Shabab Club has identified Senegalese defender Arona Sané, from the French team Le Havre, as one of the top options for signing during the current January winter transfer window.

The newspaper pointed out that negotiations are underway between Al-Shabab Club and its counterpart Le Havre, while the club's officials continue to study several other defensive options, in anticipation of selecting the most suitable one both technically and financially.

The move to strengthen the defense with young players comes in light of the possible departure of Dutch defender Wesley Hoedt, especially since 23-year-old Sangante is under contract with Le Havre until next June, meaning he is entering the free period that allows him to sign with any club without needing approval from his current club.
