Lewandowski Decides His Position on Joining Al Hilal in January
According to press reports, Polish star Robert Lewandowski (37 years old) is determined to stay with Barcelona until the end of his contract, which expires on June 30, rejecting the idea of leaving at this time despite strong interest from the Saudi club Al Hilal.
According to transfer market journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Al Hilal attempted to leverage ongoing negotiations with Barcelona regarding João Cancelo to explore the possibility of signing Lewandowski, at the direct request of coach Simone Inzaghi. However, the Polish striker is not considering leaving the Catalan club at this time.
On its part, the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" confirmed that Lewandowski wishes to spend his final months at Camp Nou and try to finish his season with Barcelona in the best possible way, similar to last season when he won three titles.
This was not Al Hilal's first attempt, as the Saudi club had previously tried to sign Lewandowski during the past three summer transfer windows without success, due to the player's commitment to his sporting project in Europe.
Despite this, Lewandowski began to calmly assess his future, as the same newspaper revealed weeks ago a meeting held in Barcelona between him, his agent Pini Zahavi, and the director of Chicago Fire, who expressed a strong desire to sign him to become the club's main figure starting next summer.
So far, Lewandowski's focus remains on Barcelona, with the door left open for what comes after his contract ends, without making a final decision about his next destination.
