Barcelona Finalizes Signing of Cancelo
Barcelona has officially finalized its agreement with João Cancelo, the Saudi Al Hilal player, to join the Catalan team during the current winter transfer window, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Cancelo joined Al Hilal in the summer of 2024, but his desire to stay did not last long, as the player showed a lack of enthusiasm to remain under the leadership of Italian coach Simone Inzaghi.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Barcelona reached an agreement with Al Hilal to acquire João Cancelo on loan for 4 million euros until the end of the season, in a move aimed at strengthening the right flank during the second half of the season.
The Sky Italy network journalist pointed out that Cancelo received an offer from Inter Milan, but he preferred to ignore it, insisting on moving to Barcelona as his first choice.
Cancelo previously represented Barcelona in the 2024 season on loan from Manchester City, where he played 42 matches, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists.
With Al Hilal, the 31-year-old player participated in only 6 matches, scoring one goal and assisting two, after moving from Manchester City at the beginning of the current season.
