Reijnders: We Achieved an Important Victory, and I Want to Learn More from Guardiola
Saturday 27-12-2025
Manchester City midfielder Tijani Reijnders appeared in a press statement after their 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest in the eighteenth round of the English Premier League.

The player said: "We know that many clubs struggle here. From what I've heard, facing Nottingham Forest at our home ground is always tough, and that's true—I felt it too. It's a very important win, and we are aiming to keep winning."

He added: "They significantly tightened the spaces, making it difficult to find the free player between the lines. In the second half, we made some changes to the lineup and were able to find the free player more frequently."

About his goal: "I had to play in an advanced position on the field [in the second half], which made it more difficult for them to choose the player to pass the ball to. The goal was a perfect example of that. Of course, Sharqi knows how to make those passes, and I was able to score the goal. He is an excellent player, skilled at finding spaces, and when he receives the ball, you have to be ready and in the right place."

He concluded about playing under Pep Guardiola's leadership: "Yes, he is a very strict coach, but he makes all of us better players. For me, now that I have spent four or five months here, I see the game from a different perspective. I want to learn more and more and more."
