The contract pertains to him receiving additional payments for providing consultancy services to Emirati club Al Jazeera.

According to information from the investigations, Mancini was earning £1.45 million annually from Manchester City for his role as the team's manager, while he was receiving £1.75 million from Al Jazeera for his advisory role, although this role reportedly required, according to various sources, an attendance of no more than four days a year.

The importance of these details for the investigations lies in the fact that the case was not related to Mancini's work for another entity, as the rules do not prevent the coach from providing services to a second party. However, officials from the Premier League believed that the contract with Al Jazeera could actually be part of Mancini's salary for his work with Manchester City, and thus the club was required to disclose it among the wages and amounts paid to the coach.

According to previous reports, including those based on documents obtained by the magazine "Der Spiegel", the funds linked to this contract were not just ordinary payments from the island. The documents indicated that money from the Abu Dhabi United Group for Development (ADUG), associated with the ownership of Manchester City, reached Mancini through a company called Sparkleglow Holdings registered in Mauritius.
