Al-Ahli team suffered an unexpected loss against their host Al-Fateh with a score of two goals to one, in the match that brought the two teams together within the competitions of the eleventh round of the Roshn Saudi Professional League.

Al-Fateh Stadium in Al-Ahsa hosted the confrontation held on Friday afternoon, where Al-Ahli entered the match seeking to continue their progress before suffering a new setback away from home.

Al-Ahli started the match with a lineup that included Abdulrahman Al-Sanabi, Ali Majrashi, Demiral, Ibanez, Dams, Atangana, Milot, Jonsvales, Firas Al-Buraikan, Jalino, and Ivan Toni.

Al-Ahli succeeded in opening the scoring at the 22nd minute after the Frenchman Valentin Atangana followed up on a ball inside Al-Fateh’s penalty area and placed it into the net, announcing the first goal.

Al-Fateh quickly responded through the Argentine Matias Vargas, who launched a powerful shot in the 43rd minute that Al-Ahli’s goalkeeper failed to save, ending the first half in a draw.

Vargas added the second goal for Al-Fateh at the beginning of the second half, after following up on a corner kick executed by the Moroccan Mourad Batna in the 47th minute, giving his team the lead.

The match witnessed the cancellation of a goal for Al-Fateh due to offside, and Ibanez missed a chance to equalize in injury time, allowing Al-Fateh to secure the match and raise their points to 8 in fourteenth place.

Al-Ahli’s points remained frozen at 19 in fourth place in the Roshn Saudi League standings after failing to return with a positive result from Al-Ahsa.
