Walid Rkraki, head coach of the Moroccan national football team, confirmed that the technical staff has not yet decided on the identity of the starting lineup that will face Mali in the second round of the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, emphasizing that the decision will be based on tactical aspects and the requirements of the match.

Rkraki explained during the pre-match press conference that the selections will undergo a precise evaluation of the players' roles within the group, saying that the choice of the main striker will depend on the technical staff's vision, whether it concerns Youssef En-Nesyri, Sofiane Rahimi, or Ayoub El Kaabi, stressing that the striker's role is not limited to scoring only but extends to teamwork and creating danger from multiple areas on the field.

The coach of the “Atlas Lions” pointed out that all players have the ability to contribute, clarifying that the team does not rely on the concept of substitutes but on a complete group where each member is required to provide real value when participating, considering that the diversity of the players' technical characteristics represents one of the team's strongest points.

In the same context, Rkraki emphasized that popular support is the most important weapon for the Moroccan team in this tournament, confirming that the strong presence of fans gives the players additional motivation and makes a difference on the pitch, especially in difficult matches.

Rkraki spoke about the match against Mali, considering it a strong test against a team that includes talented players, explaining that the match will be balanced given both sides' desire to win, and affirming that the main goal of the Moroccan team is to secure the three points and confirm qualification to the second round as soon as possible.

He also described the current edition of the Africa Cup of Nations as the toughest in the history of the tournament, due to the readiness of all teams and the availability of ideal conditions for everyone, including stadiums, facilities, and organization, noting that any team crowned champion will have deserved it.

Rkraki confirmed his great respect for the Mali national team, calling on his players to show humility and focus, pointing out that any setback or mistake could give the opponent a chance to be dangerous, before concluding his statements by emphasizing his keenness to speak realistically and clearly with the players and fans and to prepare the team in the best possible way to achieve victory.

It is worth mentioning that the Moroccan team will face Mali tomorrow evening, Friday, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, at 9:00 PM Moroccan time.
