Saudi club Al-Ittihad is close to finalizing an agreement with Portuguese left-back Nuno Tavares from Italian club Lazio, in preparation for signing him during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira revealed that Inter Milan's management is now just a few steps away from finalizing the deal, after reaching preliminary agreements with the Portuguese player.

Schira explained that the negotiations resulted in a preliminary agreement for Nuno Tavares to sign a contract extending until June 2029, pending the completion of official procedures.

Al-Ittihad Club has turned its attention to Tavares, who is 25 years old, to strengthen the left-back position, as the coaching staff is keen to reinforce this position with an outstanding foreign player.

Nuno Tavares joined Lazio in the summer of 2023, coming from English club Arsenal on loan, before the deal was later made permanent.

The Portuguese full-back has participated in 40 matches with Lazio across all competitions since joining, successfully providing 10 assists, demonstrating his offensive capabilities alongside his defensive roles.
