Benfica Opens Negotiations with Al-Nassr to Sign Wesley in January
Portuguese club Benfica has shown interest in signing one of Al-Nassr Saudi Club's foreign players during the upcoming winter transfer window starting in early January, as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the second half of the season.
The Portuguese network "CNN" reported that Benfica's management has entered into ongoing negotiations with their counterparts at Al-Nassr Club to sign the Brazilian winger Wesley. The two parties are currently discussing the terms of the agreement to finalize the deal during the winter transfer window.
The network pointed out that Wesley does not have the confidence of Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, the head coach of Al-Nassr Club, who has given the green light for the player's departure, as he wishes to recruit another foreign player who better meets the team's technical needs in the upcoming period.
It is worth mentioning that Wesley joined Al-Nassr in the summer of 2024, coming from the Brazilian club Corinthians, with a contract lasting until 2028. He plays as a left winger, and his market value is estimated at around 5 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.
