Arsenal Advances to League Cup Semi-Finals on Penalties
Arsenal qualified for the semi-finals of the English Football League Cup after a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace in the quarter-finals at the Emirates Stadium, winning on penalties.

In the 90+5th minute, Crystal Palace scored the equalizer after a ball into the penalty area. Lerma rose with a header to reach Marc Guéhi, who redirected it into the net.
After the original match ended in a 1-1 draw, the two teams went straight to a penalty shootout, which ended in Arsenal's favor with a score of 8-7.
Arsenal is scheduled to face Chelsea in the semi-final, while Manchester City will take on Newcastle in the other semi-final.
It is noted that the first-leg matches of the Carabao Cup semi-finals will take place in the week starting January 12, 2026, with the second-leg matches scheduled for the week starting February 2, 2026.
