A report revealed that Boca Juniors' management is reconsidering the future of Spanish player Ander Herrera after not activating the automatic extension clause in his contract last October.

According to the Argentine TyC Sports network, Herrera's frequent injuries recently have led the club officials to consider making a new offer that includes modifications to the current terms, in line with his physical condition and participation rate.

The same source explained that if Herrera expresses his desire to continue with the team in 2026, the new contract will either be based on productivity and number of appearances or include a salary reduction, as part of the club's policy to maintain financial balance.

It is worth noting that Herrera is an experienced midfielder who previously played for Athletic Bilbao, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United.
