Tuesday 16-12-2025
Inter Miami announced today the signing of Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilón until December 2027, with an option to extend until December 2028. This addition brings important depth to the squad, benefiting from his extensive experience competing at the highest levels of European football.

Reguilón said: "It is a very ambitious project, and a winning club that does things the right way. That’s what attracted me: coming here to keep winning and competing. My goal is to continue winning, to pursue the titles we lack, and to win everything here."

Reguilón (28 years old) joins Inter Miami after previously playing in two of Europe's most prestigious leagues — La Liga and the English Premier League — as well as having extensive experience in major international competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, the Europa League, and the FIFA Club World Cup. Throughout his professional career, the defender has played in over 260 matches, including 81 appearances in the Premier League and 56 in La Liga.

Reguilón was born in Madrid, Spain, and began his career in the youth teams of Real Madrid, spending 10 years progressing through the club’s academy before moving on loan to UD Logroñés in the Segunda División B during the 2015/2016 season. He returned to Real Madrid in 2016 and played for Real Madrid Castilla before making his first-team debut in October 2018 in the UEFA Champions League. A month later, he made his first appearance in La Liga and was later part of the team that won the FIFA Club World Cup for the fourth time in Real Madrid’s history.

After developing in Madrid, Reguilón moved on loan to Sevilla, where he had an outstanding season in 2019/2020. During his time with the Andalusian team, he helped secure the Europa League title and earned a spot in the competition's Team of the Season.

His strong performances in Spain led to his move to England with Tottenham Hotspur, where he spent two seasons before continuing his European career on loan with Atlético Madrid. Later, he had two additional loan spells with Manchester United and Brentford, before returning to Tottenham in May 2024.

On the international level, Reguilón has played six matches with the Spanish senior national team, including three appearances in the 2020 UEFA Nations League and one match in the 2021 World Cup qualifiers.

The Spanish star is now joining Inter Miami on a free transfer.
