Tottenham Player: I Was Afraid to Sleep at Home
Tuesday 16-12-2025
Tottenham Hotspur player Yves Bissouma spoke openly about the mental struggles he experienced during certain periods of his career, emphasizing that his mental state was unstable and that he faced difficult moments that affected his daily life off the pitch.

Bissouma explained that at times he was even afraid to sleep in his own home, which led him to spend entire nights at the club's training facility in search of a greater sense of safety and stability during what he described as one of the toughest periods of his life.

The Malian midfielder added that he underwent intensive psychological treatment, visiting a therapist up to five times a week in an effort to cope with the pressures and regain his mental balance.

Boussouma's statements once again highlight the importance of mental health for professional players and the necessity of providing them with the necessary support within clubs, especially given the immense pressures imposed by modern football both on and off the pitch.
