Liverpool star Hugo Ikteki appeared in press statements after the 2-0 victory over Brighton in the sixteenth round of the English Premier League at Anfield Stadium.

Ikteki, who scored both goals in the match, said: "This win was crucial. We played a great game in the Champions League. Our last Premier League match against Leeds was tough. We returned to Liverpool with a draw, so it was important to win today and perhaps set things right. I am happy today."

Regarding his two goals, he said: "In the first goal, the ball came to me quickly. I tried to be ready. You don’t expect to score in the first minute, and I always try to be prepared. For the second goal, Salah passed me a wonderful ball; all I had to do was position myself well. It was easy to finish the attack."

He continued: "I was hoping to score a hat-trick, but that will happen another time. Two goals were good."

He added: "I really enjoy being here. I have wonderful teammates, an excellent technical staff, and amazing fans. They shower me with their love, so I try to give back. The best way is by scoring goals, being actively involved, and winning matches."

He went on: "I am here just doing my duty. Whether I play with Flo Vertz or Alex Isak, I do my best to complement them."

He concluded about Mohamed Salah: "Mohamed is a top-class professional player. I consider him a role model. You can see how much he contributes to goals and decisive passes. He is a legend here. Playing alongside him is a blessing. These are the kinds of players who make us enjoy watching football."
