New Development in the Case of Al-Hilal's Withdrawal from the Saudi Super Cup
Saturday 13-12-2025
The case of Al-Hilal Club's withdrawal from the Saudi Super Cup witnessed a notable development, as the Sports Arbitration Center began considering the possibility of including Al-Ahli and Al-Qadsiah clubs as parties to the ongoing dispute in the case filed by Al-Hilal challenging the decisions issued against it.

The crisis began when Al-Hilal withdrew from participating in the Super Cup, citing player fatigue after a grueling season. As a result, Al-Ahli was called upon to take their place. Additionally, disciplinary decisions and sanctions were issued against the blue club by the Disciplinary Committee, before the matter was later referred to the Sports Arbitration Center.

The Appeals Committee overturned the Disciplinary Committee's decision but ruled that Al-Hilal lost to Al-Qadisiyah 3-0 in the semi-final, with Al-Hilal being disqualified from continuing in the tournament. Additionally, a fine of 500,000 riyals was imposed, along with a ban on receiving any financial revenues related to the tournament. This prompted Al-Hilal to pursue legal action.

According to what was revealed by the program "Nadyna" broadcast on MBC, the Sports Arbitration Center is considering Al-Qadsiah Club's request to join the case as a party, based on the appeal decision that awarded them the victory over Al-Hilal and their right to directly participate in the Super Cup final. The source also indicated that the center will review Al-Hilal's request to include Al-Ahli Club as a party in the case in the coming days.

In the same context, legal advisor Ahmed Al-Sheikhi explained that involving Al-Ahli in the case is not a legally sound option, despite the club's agreement to Al-Hilal's request. He warned that accepting the arbitration center's approval of this request could open a complex legal issue that would be difficult to close in the future.
