The competition for the managerial position at Al Ahly has intensified, with Spanish coach Chavi Hernandez entering the list of candidates to succeed German Matthias Jaissle, amid growing reports of his impending departure.

Xavi's name has emerged as one of the top options for Al Ahly's management, alongside Portuguese coaches Vítor Pereira and Nuno Santo, as the club searches for a manager to lead the team in the upcoming phase.

Vitor Pereira is drawing special interest, benefiting from his previous experience with Al Ahly. Meanwhile, Nuno Santo has a successful record in the Roshen League after leading Ittihad to win both the league and the Super Cup.

The standby list includes Portuguese coach Sérgio Conceição and Dutch manager Arne Slot, in case negotiations with the initial candidates falter.

Meanwhile, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano clarified that Arne Slot is not planning to take over as coach of Al Ahly at this time, preferring to wait for a new opportunity in one of the major European leagues.

These moves come after reports linked Yaisleh with a transfer to Newcastle United, prompting Al Ahly's management to expedite their efforts in selecting a new coach ahead of the season.
