Robertson: I Hope Salah Continues at Liverpool, and That's What We've Shown
Tuesday 09-12-2025
Liverpool star Andy Robertson appeared in a press interview after the 1-0 victory over Inter in the sixth round of the Champions League group stage.

The player said in his interview: "We achieved a great result. We knew we were coming to a tough stadium, against a team that is going through a good period. We had to show fight and determination and give everything we had. Keeping a clean sheet was very important, and then we managed to score the goal."

He added: "Regarding the penalty kick and the handball, I believe the decision took seven or eight minutes. If it took all that time, you have to respect the referee's decision on the field. You have to accept the decision. The penalty seemed soft, but it is counted anywhere else on the field."

He emphasized: "We all needed this result. We know that the results and performance were not good enough. It is important for this club to be in the Champions League. It was a big result for all of us."

About Mohamed Salah's situation: "It's a difficult situation. We are talking about one of the greatest players to have played for this club. I signed with Liverpool around the same time he did. What happened has happened, and within the club, we are all united."

He continued about Salah's future: "This matter will be up to other people, not me. I love playing with Mohamed Salah and hope to continue playing alongside him."

He concluded: "We know how important it is to be among the top eight to avoid playing in the knockout rounds. We were unlucky last season with the draw we faced."
