Argentine star Lionel Messi, Inter Miami player, was awarded the Best Player in the 2025 Major League Soccer after a historic season leading his team to the championship.
Messi led his team to win the 2025 MLS title after defeating Vancouver Whitecaps in the final with a score of 3-1, marking the first time in the club's history to win the championship.
Messi received 70.43% of the total votes for the Best Player of the Season award, becoming the first player in MLS history to win the award for two consecutive seasons.
Messi expressed his happiness with winning the award in his statements, saying: "I am very grateful for this honor, and receiving individual awards is wonderful, but I share this achievement with my teammates who also helped me win the top scorer award."
He added: "I am very happy to receive this award and to be the first in the history of the league to win it twice in a row, and I am very thankful for that."
