Iraq's national team coach, Graham Arnold, emphasized during the press conference ahead of the match against Algeria in the third round of the Arab Cup group stage that his team has recovered well after the game against Sudan and is preparing for a tough and challenging encounter against the Desert Warriors.

The Australian coach praised the "excellent" tactical discipline demonstrated by the players in recent training sessions, emphasizing that the primary goal is to improve the overall performance of the team and give the players the opportunity to showcase their potential.

As part of future preparations, the Australian coach revealed his plans to monitor the performance of certain players with their respective clubs in the coming period. This follow-up aims to assess their technical and physical readiness in preparation for finalizing the Iraqi national team roster that will compete in the global playoff qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

Regarding the condition of the injured players in the national team, Arnold provided an important update, noting that the prominent striker Ayman Hussein will be ready to participate in the final match of the tournament, should the Lions of Mesopotamia qualify.

In contrast, the coach confirmed that player Sherko Karim will be absent until the end of the tournament due to a recent injury.
