Salah: It Seems Someone Doesn't Want Me at the Club, and I Deserve More Respect
Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, Liverpool player, broke his silence regarding his current situation in the team, as he sat on the bench in the last two matches and did not play a single minute in today's match against Leeds.
Salah said in press statements: "I have said several times that my relationship with the coach is good, but suddenly we no longer have a good relationship. I don't know the reason. It seems that someone doesn't want me at the club."
He added: "I feel very disappointed. I have given a lot to this club, and everyone has seen that over the years, especially last season. I don't know why I am on the bench. I feel like the club is ignoring me. That is how I feel."
He continued: "Honestly, this is unacceptable to me. I don't know why this always happens to me: 'They throw Mo under the bus' because he is the problem. I don't think I am the problem."
He went on: "I called my mother yesterday; she didn't know that I wouldn't start today in the lineup. I knew that. I told her: Come to the Brighton match (next week), it doesn't matter if I play or not, I will enjoy her presence. We'll see what happens, in my opinion, I will enjoy it anyway because I don't know what will happen... The match will be at Anfield, so it will be my farewell moment before I go to the Africa Cup of Nations."
He concluded: "I deserve more respect... I have given a lot to the club. I shouldn't have to fight every three days to get my place because I deserve to play [based on what I have done before]. People will say that you are saying you are bigger than the club, but I never say that. I am simply not bigger than anyone; I have given what justifies me to get the position."
