Sloth: Facing Leeds Will Be Difficult, and Salah Is an Exceptional Player
Arne Sloth, the head coach of Liverpool FC, held a press conference ahead of his team's upcoming match against Leeds United, which will take place at Elland Road as part of the Premier League. During the conference, he addressed several technical aspects related to the team and the upcoming match.
Sloth said about their opponent Leeds United: "It's a tough match against a team that plays aggressively in one-on-one situations and relies on low blocks to stop chances. I watched their last game against Chelsea and saw a very strong team, which makes tomorrow's match a challenge similar to what we faced in previous games."
He added about the physical nature of matches in the English Premier League: "Every match is very physical, especially with the way teams play against us, and with the best athletes in the world. Every away game, with the support of the fans, becomes even more challenging."
Regarding his assessment of the team's performance in the last two matches, Sloth said: "We were very close to keeping a clean sheet in the last two games, which is a significant improvement compared to previously conceding seven goals in two matches."
Regarding the ongoing talk about Mohamed Salah, Sloth confirmed: "Salah is an extremely influential player and deserves all the attention. He is an exceptional player whether he starts the match or comes on as a substitute; his role is significant both on and off the field."
Regarding the team's position in the league table, Sloth explained: "We are only two points away from fourth place, which shows how competitive the league is this season. Our main goal is to return to the top four because we are not satisfied with our current standing."
Regarding Kieza's participation, Sloth said: "We have several options for his position, but he made a significant impact when he came on as a substitute."
As for the players' readiness, Sloth explained: "Joe Gomez sustained a knock against West Ham, but he played against Sunderland and is expected to train today. As for Conor Bradley, he has participated in training this week and is expected to be included in the squad against Leeds."
As for Harvey Elliott's situation, Sloth said, "I am aware of his condition and know how he is feeling right now due to his limited appearances with Aston Villa."
Regarding the reason for Hugo Ekitike's limited involvement on the left side, Sloth explained: "We had to compensate for Isaac or share the minutes with him. Rio played a lot compared to a 17-year-old player. We aim to involve the forwards more in dangerous situations."
Regarding the ability to create attacking opportunities, Sloth said: "Recently, we haven't been able to create many chances because we have been less offensive, and this is one of the things I want to improve by involving the forwards more. Some forwards have had very few touches, like 14 touches in a match, but they need to be present in the crucial moments."
