Qatar Coach: FIFA Will Monitor the Syria-Palestine Match and What Happens on the Field
Julen Lopetegui, the head coach of the Qatar national team, spoke about his team's draw against Syria in the Arab Cup.
The match between Qatar and Syria, held this evening on Thursday as part of the second round of the group stage in the Arab Cup, ended in a 1-1 draw.
Lopetegui said in a press conference statement: "It was a tough day, we missed many chances and suffered a harsh defeat. Regarding the penalty that was overturned, I do not understand the decision of the video referee. Everything was clear on the field for the referee; it was a penalty, and what the video referee did is unclear."
Regarding the upcoming match between Syria and Palestine, Lopetegui clarified his statements, saying: "I am confident that FIFA will closely monitor the Syria-Palestine match and will be fully aware of what happens on the field. We must always believe in fair play... and we will wait to see what happens between the two teams."
