Tuesday 02-12-2025
French coach Hervé Renard, head of the Saudi national team, explained that today's match against Oman was tough, but he expressed his satisfaction with securing an important 2-0 victory in the first round of the 2025 Arab Cup.

Renard added during the press conference after the match that the Omani team made the game difficult by closing the gaps, emphasizing that the team will continue working on scoring goals and improving performance in upcoming matches.

The French coach pointed out that he made some substitutions to strengthen the offensive performance, praising Salem Al-Dawsari's contributions to the two winning goals, which helped control the flow of the match.

Regarding the overall performance, Renard said that the first half was not perfect offensively, but the team delivered a good performance in the second half, emphasizing the need to improve the midfield before the upcoming matches.

Renard also touched on the African national teams, noting that some do not participate with their first-choice squads due to the proximity of continental tournaments. However, he described these teams as exciting and interesting, similar to the Syrian and Jordanian teams, which deliver impressive performances.

The French coach added that watching the match between Morocco and the Comoros revealed the difficulty of the competition, as Morocco won 3-0, while the Comoros delivered a strong second half. He emphasized the need to recover quickly to continue in the tournament.
