Trezeguet: We Respect the Royal Army but Represent One of the Greatest Clubs in the World
Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, the star of Al Ahly, confirmed that he respects the Royal Army team, emphasizing that Al Ahly will enter the match against the Moroccan team with the goal of achieving victory.
Al Ahly will face Morocco's Wydad AC this evening, Friday, in the second round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
In the press conference before the match, Trezeguet said: "We have great respect for the Royal Army team; they are a big club with a large fan base. But we also represent a great club, one of the biggest in the world, and Al Ahly's fans are among the best globally. We were raised to compete in matches and tournaments like these."
He added: "Playing in front of the Royal Army fans does not put pressure on us; having a large crowd is normal for us. Al Ahly has more than 80 million supporters behind it. Our sole focus is on facing the Royal Army, and we are not thinking about anything else."
He continued: "Qualification is not yet decided; there are still important matches in the tournament. Our main goal is to win the title, and we have a top-level coaching staff working daily on every small detail. We have studied the Royal Army team well, and we are ready to make Al Ahly fans happy."
