Why Won't Hegazi and Al-Saeed Participate in the Arab Cup?

Ahmed Hassan, the coach of Egypt's second national team participating in the Arab Cup, revealed the reason why Ahmed Hegazi and Abdullah Al-Saeed did not participate in the Arab Cup.

The Egypt B team will compete in the Arab Cup tournament, which will be hosted by Qatar from December 1 to 18.

Ahmed Hassan said on his program "The Captain" on the "dmc" channel: "God willing, we are capable of defending Egypt's name in the tournament."

He continued: "There are players we hoped would join us, but some suffered injuries, and others were unable to be present, like Omar Fayed, whose Portuguese club refused to release him. However, we are still trying to work things out with them."

Ahmed Hassan added: "I attended the press conference out of respect for all the journalists present, but some of my statements were distorted to suggest that I said some players were avoiding their responsibilities!! I did not want to speak during the past period, and I never said that."

And he continued: "Ahmed Hegazi, one of the journalists, sent me a message regarding Ahmed Hegazi's presence with the national team. I said, 'The player was clear and apologized to Captain Helmy Tolan, telling him that he is currently at a big and new club and wants to play as a starter, and we respected that.'"

Regarding Abdullah Al-Saeed, he said: "We contacted the player, but Captain Helmi Tolan felt that it would be too exhausting for him to be involved with both the club and the national team. Al-Saeed told us that he might be available only during the tournament, which Helmi Tolan rejected because he wanted all the players to be present from the start."

He added: "Elneny was very welcoming from the first day, saying 'I am here and I have no problem or objection,' and he showed a strong desire to be with us in the tournament, as did Akram Tawfiq."

He concluded his speech: "God willing, we will deliver a respectable championship and be present in the final on December 18."
