Al-Ahli secured a difficult victory with a score of 2-1 against Al-Qadisiyah in an exciting match that brought the two teams together on Friday at the "Al-Inma" stadium in King Abdullah Sports City, as part of the ninth round of the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Ahli entered the match with a strong lineup that included Edouard Mendy, Roger Ibanez, Merih Demiral, Valentin Atangana, Ziad Al-Juhani, Franck Kessie, Jallinou, Ivan Toney, and Riyad Mahrez, and started the game with early offensive pressure that unsettled Al-Qadisiyah's defense.

The first dangerous chance came from a header by Ivan Toney in the 3rd minute, which was brilliantly saved by the Al-Qadisiyah goalkeeper, before Brazilian Jallinou succeeded in scoring the first goal for Al-Ahli with a wonderful shot in the 6th minute that put his team in the lead.

Al-Ahli almost conceded a goal after a mistake by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy in the 15th minute, but Musab Al-Juwair did not capitalize on the opportunity optimally, while Mendy later returned to save his goal from a powerful shot by Matteo Retegui in the 38th minute.

Al-Ahli faced a significant blow after Ziad Al-Juhani received a red card for a tackle on Portuguese player Otavio just before the end of the first half, allowing Al-Qadisiyah to take advantage of the numerical deficiency and equalize through a header from Abdullah Salem in the 63rd minute.

Franck Kessie quickly responded with a powerful shot in the 66th minute that restored Al-Ahli's lead, and despite Al-Qadisiyah's attempts to change the result in the critical moments, Al-Ahli managed to secure their victory and leave with three important points.

With this result, Al-Ahli climbed to fourth place with 19 points, while Al-Qadisiyah dropped to fifth place after their tally stopped at 18 points following the loss.
