Tuchel: Bellingham Must Accept This, and We Deserve to Be Proud of the Players
Sunday 16-11-2025
England national team coach Thomas Tuchel appeared in a press statement after the 2-0 victory over Albania in the tenth round of the European qualifiers for the World Cup.

The coach said: "I can't believe I won't see the players until next March, it's very difficult for me. I love being on the line and I love competing with them. The players have performed amazingly, and we deserve to be proud of them all."

He added: "We made many changes, and sometimes this is unfair to those who participate because you lose the cohesion of players who are used to playing together, but everyone performed well. We had a high-quality bench that helped us change the game and influence it."

Regarding Harry Kane: "He comes back and helps us keep a clean sheet. The work ethic and attitude he shows are exceptional. I can't find the words to describe how invested he is in everything we do. He is a leader in every sense of the word."

When asked about the possibility of Kane's absence, he said: "If we have to, we will find solutions, but at the moment there is no question about that."

He concluded regarding Bellingham's dissatisfaction when he was substituted: "He has to accept it. We shouldn't give it more importance than it deserves. Rodgers wasn't happy because he didn't start today as he deserves to play, but we gave him rest because he's coming from many minutes with the club and played with us against Serbia. I always repeat that behavior is the key. Decisions are made and the player must accept them."
