Friday 14-11-2025
French coach Hervé Renard, who leads the Saudi national team, aims to achieve a remarkable record with the Falcons during the friendly match against Ivory Coast today, as part of the team's preparations for the Arab Cup in Qatar at the beginning of December.

According to the Saudi sports newspaper, Renard will reach his 60th match with the national team, making him just one match away from equaling the record held by Nasser Al-Johar as the coach who has led the Saudi national team the most.

The standard core number will officially be achievable during the upcoming friendly match against Algeria, where he will top the list of coaches with the most matches led for the national team, followed by Renard, and then Khalil Al-Zayani with 40 matches.

Following these, the Brazilian Carlos Alberto has 36 matches, and finally the Portuguese José Peseiro with 31 matches, reflecting the significant legacy of both foreign and local coaches in the history of the national team.

In a related context, Salem Al-Dosari is aiming to equal Saleh Al-Naimah's record, as he is set to play his 99th match with the Saudi national team today if he participates against Ivory Coast, to strengthen his position among the legends of the team.

The match against Ivory Coast presents an opportunity for both Renard and Al-Dosari to achieve personal milestones with the national team, while the squad continues its intensive preparations ahead of the upcoming Arab Cup competitions.
