Al-Hilal President Announces Gains from Neymar's Departure

Prince Nawaf bin Saad, the president of the Saudi Al-Hilal Club, announced the financial savings the club achieved after mutually terminating the contract of Brazilian star Neymar da Silva, confirming that the decision was made after careful and thorough consideration.

The president of Al-Hilal explained in his talk on the "Thamaniya" program that the club's management succeeded in saving around 80 million Saudi riyals after terminating the contract with Neymar, noting that this amount included settlements and disciplinary penalties imposed on the player before his departure.

Ben Saad pointed out that these procedures were carried out in accordance with the laws, as the entire file was reviewed by the Saudi Football Federation, the Professional Committee, and the Recruitment Center to ensure the validity of the decisions made.

Neymar joined Al Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain in a historic deal in 2023, but he has only participated in seven matches due to a series of injuries that have affected his journey with the team.

The club president stated that the decision to terminate the contract was in the best interest of both parties, especially after it became impossible for Al-Hilal to benefit from Neymar's services. He emphasized that the management was keen on handling the situation professionally without harming the club's financial stability.

Ben Saad discussed the system of foreign and born players in the Roshen League, emphasizing the importance of signing long-term contracts with young players to ensure both technical and financial investment, and to avoid losing talents after just one season.

He concluded his statement by saying: "Signing a one-year contract with a young player does not benefit the club; rather, it deprives it of the opportunity to develop the player and capitalize on his value in the future, both from a technical and commercial standpoint."
