Messi: Moving to Inter Miami Was a Family Decision
The Argentine flea Lionel Messi, the star of Inter Miami, spoke about his departure from Barcelona, his move to Paris Saint-Germain, and then his rejection of the Saudi offer before moving to the American league.
Messi said during the American Business Forum: "I had to travel alone to Barcelona twice. The first time, I went for 15 days to get to know the club, then I spent 15 days with my father, and then we returned, and the whole family came back. It wasn't easy because I was always with my family."
He added, "It’s true that the situation was difficult at the beginning of my time in Barcelona, but I never doubted myself, nor did I take a step back. I was clear about what I wanted; I was pursuing my dream, and we continued as a family."
He continued: "In Barcelona, we were very happy; we had everything with the family. I came when I was 13 years old and built my entire life there. It was never easy, but we adapted and experienced positive things that helped us to keep going."
He continued: "In Paris, I didn't have a good time and didn't enjoy myself for many reasons, including that everything was new to me and completely different from what I was used to, and I turned down Saudi Arabia due to family circumstances."
He concluded: "The move to Inter Miami is different because it was a family decision. Since I arrived in Miami, the experience has been amazing—living in this wonderful city first, and then the passion of the people from day one has been impressive."
