Kimmich: The match against Paris was one of the most intense in my career
Joshua Kimmich, player of the German team Bayern Munich, confirmed that the victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League with a score of 2-1 was the result of great and hard efforts, pointing to the intensity of the match which he described as one of the toughest games in his professional career.
Kimmich explained in statements after the match: "After 25 minutes, I looked up and thought I was about to collapse, which reflects the intensity of the match and the competition between the two teams at the highest level."
He added: "We caused them real problems, we did not play the traditional possession football that we are used to, but we were cohesive, created many opportunities, and showed great physical presence throughout the match."
Kimmich noted that the first half was very intense for him: "For me, the first half was one of the most intense halves of my life, especially since Bayern controlled brilliantly and showed an outstanding performance. Luis Diaz's red card at the end of the first half changed the course of the match, but we maintained focus and fighting spirit in the second half."
The Bayern Munich player continued: "After the red card, we had to focus on defending and protecting the score. I hoped we would get some counterattacks to relieve the pressure, but they were very few. Nevertheless, we defended well and did not lose control of the match."
Kimmich concluded his remarks by praising the team's overall performance: "In the end, the offensive progression was limited, but we defended in an organized manner and achieved victory. I never felt that we lost control for a long time. We continue to maintain our perfect record in all competitions and look forward to facing Arsenal in the Champions League on November 26."
