This defeat came after the Bavarians took the lead with two goals in the first half through player Luis Diaz, before Paris Saint-Germain reduced the deficit with a goal from Joao Neves in the 74th minute, but the team could not come back in the score.

Team coach Luis Enrique said after the match: "11 against 11, Bayern was undoubtedly stronger, we gave very nice gifts to the opponent in the first half, and we could have conceded more goals; in the second half, the situation changed because we had one more player, but we could not turn the result around."

Enrique added about the implications of the defeat: "Will there be consequences for the future? I can't talk about what's coming now, we know that our schedule is the toughest, and the upcoming matches will be difficult."

The Spanish coach pointed to the injuries that affected the team during the match: "We lost Ousmane Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi due to injury; for Hakimi, the injury seems muscular and he will undergo tests on Wednesday, we expect a long absence for the Moroccan defender, who left the field on crutches wearing a medical boot on his foot."
