Genoa confirmed the dismissal of coach Patrick Vieira from his position as the head coach of the first team due to the disastrous start in the Italian league.

Genoa has experienced a poor beginning to the current season in the Italian league, leading to the decision to dismiss the French coach. The team is currently in the twentieth (last) place in the standings, having only collected three (3) points after playing nine (9) matches.

The statement said: "Patrick Vieira is no longer the head coach of the first team."

The management would like to thank the coach and his staff for the seriousness and professionalism they demonstrated during their tenure, and wish them the best in their future careers.

Roberto Morgita has been temporarily appointed to lead the first team, with the assistance of Domenico Criscito.
