Prince Abdulrahman bin Turki: The Presidency of Al-Shabab is a Responsibility Not Given Freely
Monday 27-10-2025
Prince Abdulrahman bin Turki, the golden member of Al-Shabab Club, affirmed his full responsibility for the challenges the club is facing recently, clarifying that the players and the coaching staff bear no responsibility for what is happening within the team.

Prince Abdulrahman emphasized in his talk on the 'Kora' program on Rotana Khalejia channel the importance of overcoming the current crisis before facing Al-Zulfi in the Round of 16 of the King’s Cup, pointing out that elimination from the tournament could exacerbate the situation within the club.

He called on Al-Shabab fans to rally around the team and support it in the stands, affirming that excessive criticism does not serve the players' interests, saying: 'Criticize me as you wish, but do not abandon Al-Shabab, as the club needs those who stand by it now.'

He explained that the presidency of Al-Shabab is not a ceremonial position but a financial and administrative responsibility that requires full commitment, adding: 'Anyone who wishes for the presidential seat must bear the costs and pay the price, as the club does not need a formal or free presidency.'

Prince Abdulrahman added that the club's management will not hesitate to make decisive decisions if the current situation is not corrected, affirming that their presence in the club aims to serve the entity and not seek personal or commercial gains.

He indicated his intention to submit a request to hold an urgent general assembly to choose a president capable of leading Al-Shabab in the upcoming phase, expressing his openness to any individual who possesses the competence and sufficient financial support to undertake the task.

In response to the speculation about the possibility of Khalid Al-Bultan returning to the presidency of the club, he said: 'Al-Bultan has the right to run if he provides actual support, but the talk of special support from the ministry for him is unacceptable and completely unlikely.'

He concluded his remarks by emphasizing that every step taken within the club comes from a place of loyalty and dedication to Al-Shabab, saying: 'Our primary goal is the interest of the club, and we will continue to work with a sense of responsibility until we restore Al-Shabab's natural position.'
