Media figure Ahmed Shobair revealed that one of the stars of Ghazl El Mahalla will remain with his team after renewing his contract.
Al-Ahly was seeking to sign Yahya Zakaria, the star of Ghazl El Mahalla, during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Shobair stated in radio comments: "We can now say that the first winter signing for Al-Ahly is officially lost; Yahya Zakaria will continue with Ghazl El Mahalla. He is a player of the future, as he possesses very high skills and capabilities, and he has clearly shown this in the recent period. Now, Ghazl El Mahalla is renewing for their star and cutting off the path for the Red Giant to acquire his services."
He added: "Yahya Zakaria, Al-Ahly wanted to sign him to strengthen the left-back position, and the player has a bright future ahead of him. He has also impressed Helmy Toulan, the coach of Egypt's second national team, and he is one of the expected stars with the Pharaohs in the upcoming Arab Cup."
