Ibanes' Return Revives Al Ahli Before the Al Gharafa Clash
Al Ahli Saudi team has regained the services of its Brazilian defender Roger Ibanes after his full recovery from an ankle injury, as he participated on Sunday in the training session in preparation for the match against Qatari Al Gharafa in the AFC Champions League for elite teams.
Ibanes' return has provided a strong boost to the coaching staff led by German Matthias Jaissle, following the player's absence from the recent match against Al Shabab in the Roshan Saudi League, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Brazilian defender had sustained the injury during training in the last break, after which he underwent an intensive treatment program supervised by the club's medical staff until he fully recovered.
On the field, Jaissle continued his intensive preparations for the anticipated match, focusing during the main training session on applying the tactical approach he will adopt against Al Gharafa, while testing the physical and technical readiness of his players.
The training session also saw the participation of Nigerian Bello, a player from the under-21 team, for the first time with the first team, in a step aimed at giving him a chance to integrate with the core group.
Al Ahli will host Al Gharafa at the Al Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, in the third round of the Western Group, where the defending champion is in second place with 4 points, behind the leading teams, while Al Gharafa is sixth with 3 points after winning against Al Shurta and losing to Al Sharjah.
