Jorge Jesus Turns to Youth to Compensate for Defensive Shortage at Al-Nassr
Thursday 16-10-2025
The Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, the head coach of Al-Nassr, has turned to utilizing young faces in the first team to compensate for the defensive shortage the team is experiencing during the upcoming phase of the season.

Sources from 'Al-Riyadiyah' reported that Jesus decided to include the promising duo, Awad Aman and Rakan Al-Ghamdi, in the team’s collective training sessions, in preparation for their participation if needed in the upcoming matches of the Saudi Roshan League.

According to the report, Jesus has communicated with Brazilian Marcelo Salazar, the coach of the Under-21 team, to coordinate the players' participation in the first team training while they are still linked to the 'Joi' Elite League.

The Portuguese coach aims through this step to compensate for the absence of player Saad Al-Nasser, the left-back, who is currently sidelined due to an injury he sustained recently.

Awad Aman is skilled in playing both the left-back and center-back positions, while Rakan Al-Ghamdi plays the defensive pivot role, and the duo has previously participated with the Saudi Under-20 national team in the Youth World Cup.

Al-Nassr continues its preparations to face Al-Fateh next Saturday at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, in the fifth round of the league championship, entering the match at the top of the standings with 12 points, achieving a perfect score so far.
