England captain Harry Kane spoke in press statements after his team's 4-0 victory over Latvia, which secured the team's qualification for the 2026 World Cup finals two rounds before the end of the qualifiers.

Kane, who scored two goals in the match, said: "A new tournament is on the way. I’ve said before that we make it look easy, but every match and every group is really tough. We have to stay focused at all times. We always talk about the importance of maintaining high standards regardless of the opponent's identity, to keep the momentum we have built, and we showed that this week."

He added: "Qualifying two rounds early, without conceding a goal, and playing wonderful football — these are strong indicators of the good work we are doing. All we can do is face the opponents in front of us in the best possible way, and we have successfully done that so far."

Kane responded to coach Thomas Tuchel's remarks about the fans, saying: "I know Thomas said after the last match that the fans were not at their best, but honestly, I don't think our away fans can be criticized; they always support us wonderfully."

Regarding his personal level, he concluded: "I think I am currently delivering my best performances. The numbers prove that, but the most important thing is the feeling I have on the pitch — I see passes and movements better than ever. I am in a wonderful moment and hope to continue this way."
