Gennaro Gattuso, the head coach of the Italy national team, confirmed that the most important thing for him is for his team to continue creating opportunities and providing attacking football, following the 'Azzurri's' 3-1 victory over Estonia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Gattuso stated in his remarks to RAI Sport: "The important thing is to create opportunities. You can waste some chances or even penalties, but the key is to create those opportunities in the first place."

The match saw Moise Kean score the first goal just five minutes in before he had to leave due to an ankle sprain, while Raspadori made up for missing a penalty by scoring the second goal, and young Francesco Pio Esposito added his first international goal, while Estonia's only goal came after a mistake by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Gattuso added, speaking about the upcoming match: "We must continue this performance and recover quickly. Our history tells us that we always struggle in the second match, but winning the next round (against the Zionist entity) will mean their elimination from the competition, allowing us to prepare for the playoff in a calmer manner."

The Italian coach, who is having a remarkable start with the national team, continued: "We have a clear mission, which is to grow match by match and maintain team spirit and collective work. When I see this commitment, we might make some mistakes, but I am very satisfied with the performance."

He also spoke about Donnarumma's mistake in Estonia's goal: "Gigio's error is just a fleeting moment. You rarely see a team dominate a match in this way for 90 minutes. Such moments remind us of the importance of focus until the end."

Regarding Moise Kean's injury, he said: "We will know his condition in the coming hours. His ankle was hurting, and we hope the injury is not serious because we need everyone. But it is good that Pio came in and scored a great goal."
