Napoli's Plan to Sign Kobie Mainoo from Manchester United
Thursday 09-10-2025
The website "Football Italia" reported that the Italian club Napoli is aiming to sign Manchester United midfielder Kobie Mainoo on loan during the upcoming winter transfer window in January 2026, after attempting to secure his transfer last summer without success.

The report clarified that the young English player, who is 20 years old, was open to the idea of moving to Napoli during the summer transfer window, but Manchester United's management ultimately decided to keep him.

However, Mainoo's situation has not improved since then, as he has only participated in six matches this season and provided one assist, with his only start being in his team's defeat against Grimsby Town in the English League Cup.

The source indicated that Mainoo feels frustrated with the limited playing time he is receiving and is considering a move in January, especially with Napoli's desire to give him the opportunity to play regularly, particularly with their participation in the Champions League.

The Italian club believes that bringing in Mainoo on loan would be a logical step, especially after the successes achieved by his former teammates Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund in Serie A under the management of Antonio Conte.

It is worth noting that Mainoo's contract with Manchester United extends until June 2027, with an option to extend it for an additional period.
