Sources revealed that officials from Al Ahly club have decided to abandon the idea of contracting one of the two Portuguese coaches, Carlos Queiroz, the coach of the Oman national team, and Rui Vitoria, the former coach of Panathinaikos, to lead the red team in the upcoming period.

According to press reports, Al Ahly's management retreated from contracting with Queiroz due to his request to postpone his decision until the Oman national team's matches in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup are completed.

The sources pointed out that Rui Vitoria preferred to take a break after his recent departure from Panathinaikos, which led Al Ahly's management to search for new names, while Emad Nassar is temporarily taking over the coaching role.

Al Ahly dismissed their Spanish coach Jose Ribeiro at the end of August after losing to Pyramids with a score of 2-0, and Emad Nassar has temporarily taken charge of the team.
