Alguacil Admits: Al-Shabab Will Not Compete with These Mistakes
Thursday 25-09-2025
The Spanish coach Juan Alguacil clarified that his team Al-Shabab "served the victory on a silver platter" to their counterpart Al-Khulood in the match that ended with the team's loss at home in the fourth round of the Saudi Professional League.

Alguacil confirmed that the accumulation of physical fatigue and the repetition of individual mistakes were direct causes of the decline in performance, pointing out that some players had played long matches that reached 120 minutes in the past period, which affected their readiness.

The Spanish coach indicated that his team granted the opponent four clear chances without justification, noting that this approach does not help Al-Shabab compete seriously in the league, adding that Al-Khulood capitalized on those mistakes in the best possible way.

He pointed out that players like Mohammed Harboush, who returned from a long injury, and Faisal Al-Subayani, who played out of his natural position, affected the team's balance due to their lack of readiness, stressing that he is forced to adapt to the available players.

Regarding the match, Alguacil explained that Al-Shabab could have achieved a positive result if they had exploited their chances, emphasizing that the attacking decision was correct but poor utilization of attempts kept the victory away from the team.

On the other hand, the English coach Dennis Buckingham of Al-Khulood expressed his happiness with the performance of his players, confirming that his philosophy is based on attacking and scoring goals rather than relying on defense, considering that the near goal is to ensure survival and establish a competitive project in the long term.
