The Brazilian club Santos announced on Wednesday that it has officially signed Algerian international Bilel Brahimi in a free transfer deal, allowing him to embark on a new experience in his football career outside the European continent.

Brahimi, who is 25 years old, was available without any obligations after terminating his contract with French club Nice, which he returned to last summer after a loan spell with Belgian club Sint-Truiden.

Brahimi's joining Santos is a notable milestone, as he will become the second Algerian player to experience the Brazilian league, following his compatriot Islam Slimani, who played for Coritiba in 2023, appearing in 11 matches, scoring 3 goals and assisting 2.
