According to reports, the renewal negotiations that began after the Club World Cup, during Xabi Alonso's tenure as head coach, have stalled without reaching a final agreement.

In the last meeting held in Madrid, Vinicius significantly lowered his financial demands to facilitate the renewal, but ultimately no agreement was reached regarding the extension.
