Argentinian star Lionel Messi has reached an agreement with his club Inter Miami to renew his contract, after joining the team in the summer of 2023 from Paris Saint-Germain with a contract that runs until the end of the current world.

According to ESPN, the agreement will allow Messi to continue with Inter Miami beyond 2026, without disclosing the duration of the new contract, while preparations for the official announcement have begun in the next two weeks.

Jorge Mas, one of the club's owners, had previously confirmed that Inter Miami would do everything possible to ensure Messi's contract renewal.

Since the beginning of 2025, Messi has participated in 36 matches with the team, scoring 28 goals and providing 14 assists, and he has also won the League Cup and the Supporters' Shield in Major League Soccer.
