The Turkish club Basaksehir announced today, Monday, the official signing of German coach Nuri Sahin to lead the first team with a contract that extends for three seasons.

This is Sahin's third experience at the age of 37 in his coaching career, after starting his journey with the Turkish club Antalya Spor from 2021 to 2023, then he took over Borussia Dortmund in July 2024, before being dismissed last January due to poor results.

Sahin takes over the role following coach Cağdaş Atan, who mutually ended his contract with Basaksehir last week.

Nuri Sahin commented on taking the position, saying: "It is a special day for me, the working atmosphere here is enjoyable, and I am happy to be in a competitive and professional environment."
