The Iraqi Stars League for the new season 2025-2026 kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, with the opening match that will bring together the Diyala team and its host, Baghdad Municipality, on the pitch of the magician Ahmed Rady Stadium, at six o'clock in the evening.

Baghdad Municipality enters the match with great ambitions after making a number of prominent signings during the summer transfer period, most notably the contract with Algerian star Sofiane Feghouli, who comes from a long experience in European leagues, in addition to signing Tunisian striker Hamdi Al-Abidi and several distinguished local players, which makes the team a candidate to start strong and achieve positive results this season.

On the other hand, the Diyala team seeks to appear differently this season by providing good levels and proving itself among the league teams, especially since it aims to achieve a positive start that enhances its chances of survival and competition.
