Mbappe: 3 German Clubs Tried to Sign Me
French star Kylian Mbappe confirmed that several clubs from the Bundesliga sought to sign him earlier in his career, before joining Real Madrid last summer on a free transfer.
Mbappe said in an interview with the French program Telefoot: "Many German clubs reached out to me, Bayern Munich tried to sign me when I was younger and able to leave Monaco."
He added: "Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig expressed their interest in me, and these are the three clubs I only remember; there may have been other clubs, but I don't recall. Everyone is asking now, but the time has passed."
The French star has taken a decisive step this season to become the new captain of the Real Madrid project under coach Xabi Alonso.
